ROTARY'S FOUR WAY TEST
"Of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it Build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

McMinnville Rotary Meeting Summary

THIS WEEK WAS A FIRESIDE

Club members gathered to enjoy a cocktail hour before the informal meeting began. President Jan thanked Johannes Goddik for setting up the room, Greeters were  Ken Dunn and Bruce Huffman. Past President Chuck Pattishall gave us the inspirational moment and Scott Chambers led the flag salute.

There were no formal introductions. The guests included LINDA MASON, ROELIE GODDIK, MELISSA MALLOY, YASUKO FIELDS, ROSS PHILLIPPI, ESTHER HUFFMAN, VONGI TARON, LORI GARDNER, and SCOTT OLAFSEN.  Honorary club members Erma Vasquez and Araceli Oritz were also in attendance along with inbound exchange students AOF SOMBATPIRON, and CONI CAMPBELL.

President Jan introduced Molly Walker, Board Membership Committee Chair. Molly showed a short video welcoming new club members into  Rotary.

Ray Fields, Rotary Foundation of Rotary International Committee Chair, spoke of his 47 years in Rotary and showed a video about the campaign to end polio in India. For more information go to www.rotary.org/endpolio

President Elect Bruce Dickson said he saw on Facebook that if we are not successful in eradicating the last 1% of polio cases, there will be four million cases of polio worldwide within 20 years.

President Jan told the story of how she came to Rotary. Apparently Skip Huwaldt convinced her that this is indeed a fun club and it would be easy to slide along without having to do much if she would avoid getting involved with the Wine and Art Auction and stayed off the Board of Directors. Of course she became involved with both of them and has NOT managed to slide along without doing any work. However, she's happy and wouldn't have it any other way.

President Jan thanked Wayne Bailey for bringing wine to the evening festivities.

Bob Mason announced that the Yamhill County Master Gardeners are having their annual plant sale out at the fairgrounds this Saturday from 9:00-3:00.

Past President Chuck Pattishall raised his glass to toast the lovely President Jan for her commitment to the Fireside and for being an excellent president. Big round of applause.
