ROTARY'S FOUR WAY TEST
"Of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it Build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

McMinnville Rotary Meeting Summary

OPENING

YASUKO FIELDS, playing the koto,  entertained members and guests as they arrived for the meeting.  President Jan Hartzell called the meeting to order thanking Johannes Goddik and Chuck Pattishall for handling the set-up chores for the meeting and recognizing Brent Adams and Kristi Brill as this weeks greeters. Bruce Wyatt provided the Inspirational Moment, a reminder of the many blessings we are privileged to enjoy here in McMinnville.  He closed by saying “this month, more than ever, may we add compassion to our commitment to “service above self”….we will be better for it.” The Pledge of Allegiance was then led by Jeff Long.

MEMBER RECOGNITION BRAGS AND ANNOUNCMENTS

Darrick Price stepped up to the podium to handle the Member Recognition portion of the meeting

Ed Gormley was recognized for a birthday.  Ed proudly announced that his business was celebrating its 100th birthday this year!

Erik Hanson announced that his daughter is expecting a child.

Erin Stephenson happily announced that, with the Oregon Civil War victory, fellow member Brent Adams will again be adorned with attractive and fashionable attire that features the victorious colors of the University of Oregon.  Erin offered to let Brent off the hook if members were willing to donate $1000 to the Rotary Foundation, but with no takers, it looks as if the fashion show will proceed as scheduled.

Brent Adams suggested that any members wishing to have their photo taken with him when he dons the U of O colors can do so by bringing a non-perishable food item to the meeting next week.

Dan Gardner noted that his grandson was celebrating his 1st birthday.

Carol Benedict gave a brief summary of her trip to New York, where she met distinguished radio and television personalities Greta Van Sustern, Bill O’Reilly, and Glenn Beck.

Richard Weed announced that his son, Matthew, was recently accepted into a PhD program at his school in Florida.

Bruce Wyatt announced that he had two tickets to the Linfield/St. Thomas football game (Note: Linfield won that game, 31-20, and will advance to the semifinals of the Division III football playoffs).

Jan Hartzell announced that Bruce Wyatt was recently named to the Mid-Willamette Valley United Way Board of Directors.

As the formal demonstration was taking place on the stage, all those present were served a traditional sweet before being served tea.
