Today's "welcoming team" was Don Clark and Bob Rhoads.

The Inspirational Moment was provided by Dave Pfendler.

President John Larsen led the flag salute.

INTRODUCTION OF VISITING ROTARIANS & GUESTS 

Lori Rumbaugh introduced her 5 year old daughter Elana.

Cory Graham introduced Liz MacDonell of the Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation.

Jon Triest introduced his client Rich Schieber.

Brent Adams introduced Abby Bruns of the Cancer Foundation.

Bruce Wyatt introduced the new Linfield President, Tom Hellie

John Elliot introduced fellow Safeway staffer, Lori Kyle.

Silvia Reyes introduced her daughter Angie Leishman.

Ryan Arzner introduced Tyler Mathews, former Linfield quarterback and employee of Corrigan's.

Ryan Arzner also introduced Inbound Student Filip Fidler.

Frank Bumpus introduced outbound candidate Austen Wuellner.

MEMBER RECOGNITION & ANNOUNCEMENTS

John Larsen elected to "pay up" for forgetting the area code.

Ezra Koch was recognized for his "19th" birthday and Bruce Huffman led a round of "Happy Birthday".

Bob Emerick celebrated another wedding anniversary by himself -- 34th anniversary (he actually went up to Seattle to see his wife).

Walter Haight just returned from visiting his daughter in Japan and brought a Rotary banner to present to President Larsen.

Richard Weed announced that Filip leaves on July 1 so he will be hosting a going away party for him at the Weed house on June 28 at 4pm.

Tom Hellie announced that the new Linfield football coach will be Joe Smith.

Frank Bumpus bragged that the new football coach was a psychology major and took 3 classes from Frank.

Brent Adams announced the July 7 demotion party for President  John will be at the Senior Center.

Van Keck "Go Beavs" in light of the ever-successful Beaver baseball team.  Where are the Beaver fans???

Austen Wuellner read a letter from his future home in Guatemala.  It looks like he will be living at the former Governor's house and the girls are waiting.

Cory Graham announced that the Wine & Art Auction invitations are done and can be picked up today if you have anyone you'd like to invite.

Lee Vasquez welcomed Dawn Witt of the Morning Club and Habitat ReStore.  He also thanked Rotarians for their help stuffing the auction envelopes.

Brent Adams announced our Rotary Club will be sponsoring an orphan in Haiti in the upcoming year.

Jon Triest announced that rose sales were down a bit this year -- 850 dozen were sold.  Please get money in by the end of the month.  Also, the club was asked to notice his very special shoes...

John Elliot  told us that our club will be sponsoring Sam Ryan, a Safeway employee, to this year’s  RYLA camp later in the summer.

 

Main event

 

Silvia Reyes gave her vocational.  Reyes was born and raised in Mexico City and moved with her mother and brothers to the US when she was 17.  She got married after high school to a man she had known for two weeks.  She has two children - a son and a daughter.  She is expecting her first grandson -- he's on the way.  She has been banking for almost 20 years now and really enjoys the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of her customers.

 

 

Cindy de las Heras also gave her vocational.  She was born and raised in a small town in Utah and her husband was born and raised in Cuba and Spain.  At age 18, she left Utah to attend Travel School in Miami and took a job in the cruise industry.  She stayed in Florida for 4 years and that is where she met her husband.  She has three daughters.  After following her husband's job opportunities all over the US, they have elected to permanently call McMinnville their home.  She's been at Wells Fargo since 2001 and intends to further her education and get a MBA in Business Finance so she can become a District Manager.

CLOSING

 

 

President John concluded the meeting with the reciting of the Four Way Test.

The Board of Directors has approved the following for membership:

Mike Whited, sponsored by Bruce Huffman, is proposed for the classification of  “Personnel Services”  He will automatically become a member unless anyone objects within ten days of  publication of this notice.
