The following are real court quotes:
1. Q. "Now, doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn't know about it until the next morning?"
2. Q. "The youngest son, the twenty-year-old, how old is he?"
3. Q. "Were you alone or by yourself?"
4. Q. "You were there until the time you left, is that true?"
5. Q: "You say the stairs went down to the basement?"
A: "Yes."
Q: "And these stairs, did they go up also?"6. Q: "All your responses must be oral, OK? What school did you go to?"
A: "Oral."7. Q: "You were not shot in the fracas?"
A: "No, I was shot midway between the fracas and the navel."8. Q: "Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?"
A: "No."
Q: "Did you check for blood pressure?"
A: "No."
Q: "Did you check for breathing?"
A: "No."
Q: "So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?"
A: "No."
Q: "How can you be so sure, Doctor?"
A: "Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a bowl."
Q: "But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?"
A: "It is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere."9. Defendant: Judge, I want you to appoint me another lawyer.
Judge: And why is that?
Defendant: Because the Public Defender isn't interested in my case.
Judge (to Public Defender): Do you have any comments on the defendant's motion?
Public Defender: I'm sorry, Your Honor. I wasn't listening.10. Judge: I know you, don't I?
Defendant: Uh, yes.
Judge: All right, tell me, how do I know you?
Defendant: Judge, do I have to tell you?
Judge: Of course, you might be obstructing justice not to tell me.
Defendant: Okay. I was your bookie.
Ray Fields took the podium to discuss the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. First, he challenged everyone to make an annual contribution of $100 to the Foundation. Next, he recognized Jesse Davis as the recipient of a “Two Sapphires Pin” from the Foundation in recognition of his generous contributions. Thank You, Jesse!

EXTRA
Editors note - The following is just as the students have written their e-mails. There have been no corrections to spelling or grammar.
Hi!! How are you? I am sorry not to have emailed you for long time. I just wanted to say hi, and tell you some things around me.
I dont even rememer when was the last time I emailed you, so if you have heard them already, forgive me!! haha.
Well, i have had my college entering test 3months ago, but I couldnt pass it. So now i go to clam school everyday. I have to study for the next test whish is going to be march in 2007. maybe it sounds very bad, ; marty and polly were like "we dont understand why they dont let narumi enter!!" But, you dont really have to worry about me. Thats what Japanese students do. I think 30% of studntes cant go to the college they want to go to first time. So there are so many studets who go to clam school.
Studying all day is NOT that fun, but I am so excited to go to the college which I really want to go to. So its ok.
And I kind of plan to visit to Mac. I think its going to be right after this test, so maybe April in 2007? I am so looking forward to seeing you!! so please tell about my visiting to all of Rotarians for me.
Ok, I will be happy if you email me back. I would like to know about exchange student you have now.
Take care,
Love you
Narumi
So it’s been quite a while and I apologize for that but I have just been doing so much and seriously everyday has been busy and filled with something to do! It’s been great! So I left off I think right before europatour in March…wow, yes all the way back in march. So…Euro tour. I don’t even know what to say except that it was THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE EVER! It was so cool! We started out in Prague and then Went to Vienna then to Budapest then to Ljubljana Slovenia, Venice, Rome, Pisa, Florence, Nice, Monaco, Lyon, PARIS, Brussels, and Bruges. It was great we were 46 exchange students crammed into a bus travelling from youth hostel to youth hostel in Europe with 6 guides who all used to be exchange students and are now backing Germany studying or working and getting involved with rotary. Every morning we would get up and take a tour of the city and then in the afternoon try out the native foods or eat a sandwich from the infamous Euro tour sandwich bar (got old eating the same sandwiches every day!) and then
we would have free time where we could tour around by ourselves in groups of three or more and then meet back at the youth hostels for dinner. It was so well organized and we were able to see so many things in each city! I could never tell you which was my favourite though. From discos in Prague to the beauty of Vienna to ice cream and pizza in Italy, the coliseum in Rome, the beaches in Nice and Monaco, Crepes in Paris and Belgian Waffles in Bruges…..don’t worry I took about 1000 pictures. But it was just so great to see so many European things with such great people. Exchange students are so much fun! We all get along instantly and it’s just an awesome atmosphere to be in. Sadly it only lasted 23 days. But as soon as I arrived home my mom and step dad were at the train station to greet me. It was cool to see my parents and give them some insight into what I have been doing for the last 8 months. They got to see Stuttgart and where I go to school etc. as well as get to know my host family. After a few days in my home town we set out for Berlin together. Berlin is a fairly new city compared to the ancient ruins in Rome but learning so much about the WWII history there was really interesting. After a few days in Berlin we travelled on to Prague. I had been there only 3 weeks earlier but it was great to be back and I
was able to know sort of where I was goin. That was cool. After another short stop in Pilsen (where Pilsner Urquell beer is brewed) we headed home and my parents travelled onto France without me. Finally I had a few days to chill out and get back into school and swimming. It was sorta hard at first just because I had been always on the go during Euro tour then seeing my parents again and everything always fast moving but getting back into my “normal” routine was cool. I spent some time with my host family and we went to Baden Baden for a day and saw a few museums in a few other cities around here.
My dad is here now and we have had a chance to see some Stuttgart together and we also went to Lichtenstein Castle and Hohenzollern Castle….two castles in this area that are relatively well known around here. That was fun. And tomorrow we get on the train to go to Venice together then we are spending a week in Corfu Greece….so yeah I have been pretty busy lately swimming in swim meets as well and meeting up with friends. Its been crazy, just nowadays I feel like I always have something to do and I have friends and go out on the weekends and just live
my normal life…but I only have less than 2 months left! It’s so weird, I’m just trying to take advantage of every day at the moment and not think about the time and how short it really is. Of course I’m looking forward to being home in the US again but not yet! Germany is such a great country and I feel so normal here and I have learned so much but I'm just having a great last two months. So anyways, yeah hopefully I will get one more email out before I head back to the US but for now I hope all is well and I will see you soon!
Love, Al
